Behind her Shadow ( MOM )
She is the eighth born in a middle class family. She is strong and energetic yet she does not violate or humiliate others. She is beautiful still she has self-respect of her life. She works hard day and night since she has a family to take care of. She is a wife of three children and married to a respected man. Mrs. Rose Mero is a great mother, a great woman and the salt of the earth, and the essence of a black woman.
My mother has had the greatest influence in my life. She taught me how to stand even when she was falling. She taught me how to be happy when she was in time of sorrow. She made me a strong woman because she struggled. She is the essence of a black woman.
This woman will stand and say, she is there because she is who she is. She trusts herself and knows how to take care of her family always. None of us never go hungry, unsatisfied or unhappy when this woman is available because she is the essence of a black woman.
My mother has done much in her life to benefit the ‘world family’ also. She organizes and stands as an assistant chairwoman of African Group for Women. ‘She helps to provide aid to people in need since she believes despite troubles; she has much to give others.
She does not need a man to be strong, because she is her own woman. She overcomes challenges that stand in her way. Her inner strength gets her through the day. She continues to triumph with elegance and grace. In spite of sometimes being in double jeopardy because of her sex and her race. She is a goal-oriented woman with style and confidence. She never forgets where she comes from and that she is blessed. She has faith in God and is not shamed to acknowledge his presence in her life. She can testify that without him she could never endure any sacrifice. Most of these characteristic are mine and I practice many of my mothers’ behavior. I am greater and people say look at Lulu, she is like her mother. Not because of my appearance but also my action. This black woman of beauty is the mother of all, essence of a black woman.
